Clifford  Olie Ostenson, the son of Albin and Rose (Lambert) Ostenson was born on October  15, 1940 in Rolla, North Dakota.  He died at the age of 73 years on Thursday,  July 10, 2014 at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby, North Dakota.  
                      
                      Clifford  was raised on the family farm south of Rolette.   He attended Ox Creek School #4 in Nanson (rural Rolette) and completed  his education at Rolette   High School. He worked  construction in Rolette and for local farmers in the area before he was drafted  in the U.S. Army.  In August 26, 1964 he  was inducted in the U.S. Army where he served in Germany  during the Vietnam War, after he was honorably discharged in August 25, 1970 he  returned to Rugby, North Dakota. On December 17, 1971 he was  united in marriage to Joanne E. Lindman at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby.  The couple  raised their two daughters, Crystal and Dawn in Rugby.  Clifford worked concrete for Fossum’s and  Deplazes Redi-mix until he retired in 2004.   Joanne died May 26, 2004. He lived at the Heart of America Care Center  for six years before moving to the Haaland Home for the past three years. He  had a love for playing the guitar and singing and in his younger years he was  known as Elvis. He loved to draw and enjoyed his grandchildren’s activities  such as, hunting and derby’s.  Clifford  enjoyed spending time with his friend of 54 years, John Voeller and he also  loved his dog, Brisco. 
                      
                      Clifford  is survived by his daughters, Crystal (Rodney) Wangler of Rugby and Dawn  Ostenson of Grand Forks; his five grandchildren, Tyler (Kristy) Wangler, Chase  (Kirstan) Wangler, Brandon Wangler, Rylie (MaKayla Cichos) and Courtney Axtman;  great grandchildren, Cayden and Brady Wangler, and Carter and Padyn Axtman;  sisters, Violet (Bert) Kuntz of Towner, Darlene (David) Schmidt of Lincoln,  Carol DeVries of Minot, Eunice Ostenson, Lois (Virgil) Kuhn both of Jamestown;  a brother Allen (Bonnie) Ostenson of Jamestown; several nieces, nephews; other  relatives and friends.  He was preceded  in death by his wife, Joanne; an infant sister, Mary; a nephew, Steven Ostenson  and his parents.  
                       
                       
                      Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 14th at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with  private family burial. Father Tom Graner, Officiate.  
                      
                      Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of services on Monday at  the Anderson Funeral Home, Rugby. There will  be no reviewal in the church.
