Michael Elton Mygland, was born June 21, 1970 to Bennie and Jeanette (Romine) Mygland in Rugby, North Dakota.  Mike was a farm kid and grew up with a love for farming and caring for animals.  He graduated from Rugby High School in 1988.  While in high school Mike met the love of his life, Robyn Herman. Mike and Robyn moved to the Mygland family farm in June of 1991 and started to build a cattle herd.   Mike and Robyn were married on March 3, 1995 at Bethany Lutheran Church. Together they had 4 children; Haley, Bennie, Avery and Marlee.  Mike enjoyed everything about being a dad.  Some of his proudest moments were watching them grow up and participate in school activities.  He really enjoyed dance recitals as well as football and wrestling.  But perhaps his proudest moment came when his grandson Kacen was born.
Mike worked for Rugby Sanitation for several years until he begin farming full time, but still continued to help them out when they needed him, because that’s just the kind of guy he was.  Mike was a farmer through and through, it was the way he lived his life.  From the sight of the new crop coming in the spring to bringing the cows home in the fall, it was all a part of him.  He was so proud to be raising his kids and grandson on the same farm his dad grew up on.   Mike enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.  Mike served on the Torgerson township board, he was also an avid supporter of the local 4-H and The Pierce County Fair.  Mike was a lifelong resident of Pierce County and was known and loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Mike is survived by his wife, Robin; children Haley and her son Kacen, and Bennie of Rugby and Avery and Marlee, still at home.   Siblings Byron Mygland of Pembina and Barb Mygland, Fargo. Uncle Boyd Romine Anchorage.  Mother-in-law Angela Herman of Rugby, brother-in-law Brad Herman of New Rockford, niece Emily (Kody) Larson of New Rockford and great niece Kelsey and several cousins.
