Mitchell Obert Amble, the son of Obert and Bonita (Nelson) Amble was born on March 9, 1962 at Rolette, North Dakota. He died unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, July 16, 2018 at his home in Rugby, North Dakota.

Mitchell was raised in the Rolette home of his parents and graduated from Rolette High School, the class of 1981. He completed his education at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota, earning his certification in Auto Body Repair. Following college, he took his trade to Grand Forks where he worked for a couple of years. Later, Mitch moved to Rugby and accepted a position with Hartley’s School Bus in their service department, where he passionately worked for over 30 years and up until his passing. Mitch was an avid fisherman, woodworker, builder, adventurer, outdoorsman, mechanic, and had a interest in aviation. Everyone has a piece of Mitch inside their home, in the form of his remarkable pieces of woodwork. If something was ever broken, Mitch would always be the first one there to figure out the mechanics and fix it. Mitch loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking his boat on the lakes to fish for Walleye. Another hobby he was passionate about, was spending time with his friends and family. Mitch enjoyed spending time with his son Jonathon, and mentored him throughout Jonathon’s childhood and early adulthood. Mitch was a teacher, an inspiration, a helping hand, a caring friend, a loving family member, and a mentor to many. He loved helping those around him, and loved to teach while doing so. When Mitch would fix something, he would also teach you why it was broken in the first place. Mitch would lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need of help. Mitch enjoyed being a mentor to the people around him, and used his passion of learning to teach others.  Even after his passing, we can all learn something from Mitch. Mitch flew into all of our hearts, built a home there, and that is where he will be, forever.

Survivors include his best friend and companion, JoAnn Burns of Rugby, his son, Jonathon Burns (Shelby Groth) of Minot; his siblings, Tamey (Curt) Honeyman of Regent, Sherri (Blaine) Scott of Rolette, Nona Amble of Polson, Montana and Marty (Bonnie) Amble of Wahpeton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21 st at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Rugby with Pastor Nathan Steen officiating.
