Rose Mary “Rosemary”  (Pfeifer) Filler, the daughter of Odmar and Mary (Adam) Pfeifer was born on  April 11, 1936 on the family farm in Berwick, North Dakota.  She died at the age of 80 years on Monday,  March 6, 2017 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota. 
                      
                      Rosemary was raised  on her family farm and attended school in Berwick until the 4th grade when the family moved to Funston, North Dakota where she completed her  education.  She worked on her parents’  farm and at the Morris Café in Drake following her schooling.  On November 16, 1955, she was united in  marriage to Herbert Filler at St. Margaret-Mary Catholic Church in Drake.  Following their marriage, they made their  home on a dairy farm near Minot.  Later,  the couple moved to Orrin, North Dakota where they started a dairy farm which  the family operated for the next 47 years.   Herbert and Rosemary were blessed with ten children.  In 2008, they retired and moved to  Rugby.  Herbert died on September 28,  2012.  Rosemary was a member of the  Christian Mother’s at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Towner and Sacred Heart  Catholic Church in Orrin. 
                      
                      Rosemary is survived  by her children, Linda (Joel) Lemer of Carrington; Karla (Mike) Martin of  Anamoose; Terry (Brenda) of Arnegard; Mary Volk of Glasgow, Montana; Bonita  Filler of Layton, Utah; Scott (Tammy) of Rugby; Renae Filler (Henry Heintz) of  Chaseley; Cory Filler of Depere, Wisconsin; and Jason (Jill) of Kindred; 28  grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers, Francis (Rosella) Pfeifer and  Odmar Pfeifer Jr., all of Minot; sisters, Dorothy (Milton) Bachmeier of  Anamoose, Angeline (Leo) Rudnick of Mandan and Audrey (Jerome) Weigel of Minot;  brothers-in-law, Leo Burgard of Minot and Harvey Bromley of Anamoose;  sister-in-law, Florence Pfeifer of Granville; several nieces, nephews; other  relatives and friends.  She was preceded  in death by her husband, Herbert; a daughter, Judy; brothers, Ralph and Richard  Pfeifer; sisters, Patricia Bromley and Alice Burgard; and her parents. 
                      Mass of Christian Burial will be held  at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 13th at the Little Flower Catholic  Church in Rugby with spring burial in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Drake.  Father Tom Graner, Celebrant. 
                      
                    Visitation will be held from 5:00 to  7:00 p.m. Sunday with a Rosary and Vigil  prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in  Rugby.  Visitation will continue from  9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.  |
